When to use this calculator

Minor losses from fittings, valves, and bends add up fast — a run with several elbows and a globe valve can lose more head than a long straight pipe section. K-factors here are typical published values; for precise work, use the manufacturer's Cv or K-factor for the specific fitting. Sum K-factors across all fittings in a run to get total minor loss.
